Silver Nuggets #4: Single leg smacks
Today's nugget is a coordination and balance exercise designed to strengthen your ankles/inner child.
While standing on one foot leg and using assistance, place the ball in the opposing hand and smack it over and over. This'll give your knee and ankle stabilizers constant stimulus to adapt to as you smack away.
As with all of our balance exercies, DON'T try go all the way to failure. Once your foot & ankle BEGIN to fatigue is long enough to cause adaptation safely. 2 sets of 30-45 seconds on each foot is a good start!
If you have been inactive for an extended period of time, consult your physician before starting any exercise program, including this one.
