नेपालमा कोभिड-१९ को नयाँ भेरिअन्ट भेटिएको पुष्टि भएको स्वास्थ्य मन्त्रालयले जनाएको छ।

देशका विभिन्न भागबाट गत हप्ता सङ्कलन गरिएका कोभिड-१९ सङ्क्रमितहरूका ३५ वटा नमुनालाई विश्व स्वास्थ्य सङ्गठनको समन्वयमा भारतस्थित प्रयोगशालामा जिन सिक्वेन्सिङ गर्दा ३४ वटा नमुनामा बी.१.६१७.२ भेरिअन्ट र एउटा नमुनामा बी.१.६१७.१ भेरिअन्ट पुष्टि भएको मन्त्रालयले बताएको छ ।

''यससँगै हालसम्म नेपालमा यो परिवर्तित भाइरससहित तीन किसिमका भेरिअन्ट रहेको पुष्टि भएको छ,'' मन्त्रालयले जारी गरेको विज्ञप्तिमा उल्लेख छ।

भारतीय भेरिअन्टको नामले पनि चिनिने यो भेरिअन्टलाई विश्व स्वास्थ्य सङ्गठनले २०२१ मेमा विश्वव्यापी चिन्ताको भेरिअन्ट भनी वर्गीकरण गरेको मन्त्रालयले जनाएको छ।
