The Feast of the Redeemer commemorates the liberation from the Plague and over the years has become the most anticipated and heartfelt celebration for the Venetians. It is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of July, and tradition dictates that at sunset, all the boats decorated for the occasion gather in the St. Mark's Basin, waiting for the Fireworks.
