Rehab at Home for Adults: Understanding Conversation in Small Groups | MED-EL

The Rehab at Home for Adults video series demonstrates how cochlear implant recipients work towards 12 everyday listening goals.

This video looks at Goal 5: To understand conversation in small groups (3 to 5 people).

You will meet Mary-Jane, who uses a cochlear implant in one ear and has close to normal hearing in the other. She demonstrates an auditory training activity listening to an audiobook streamed directly to her implant. This helps her build her skills to understand conversation when the person speaking is on her implant side. In conversations, turning to face the person talking is helpful so you can use speech reading cues. Download our Sound Localization brochure for additional tips and information to help you build this skill: https://www.medel.com/support/rehab/rehabilitation-downloads
