These guidelines for conduct written by Swami Kriyananda, as inspired by Paramhansa Yogananda, are for those who feel deeply in tune with the Ananda spiritual life—yet, they can also be applied more broadly. Swamiji started with human nature and was realistic, rather than being idealistic and trying to mold people to a certain form. As we turn toward attunement with the divine, we don’t suppress or war with our ego but rather sublimate it gradually to a higher cause, toward attunement with the divine.
