Riding Brompton along Han River, Seoul, with @stevenadventure.
April 2026 - Riding Brompton along Han River, Seoul, with @stevenadventure. Part 1
The morning of April 18, 2026, along the Han River felt gently alive, like the day was unfolding at its own careful pace. The air carried a light spring chill—cool enough to brush against your skin and keep your senses sharp, but softened by a tender warmth from the rising sun. A mild breeze followed the curve of the river, steady and refreshing, slipping past you as you rode along the bicycle track.
What opened up around you was space—unexpected, generous space. The land stretched wide on both sides, long ribbons of path and grass running beside the calm water. Seoul, often imagined in dense clusters of high-rise buildings, seemed distant here. The skyline stayed low and far away, as if intentionally retreating to let the river and sky take center stage. Without towering buildings crowding the view, the horizon felt broader, almost liberating.
And then there were the flowers.
Along the edges of the track, spring had quietly arranged its colors. Rows of tulips stood out the most—soft reds, bright yellows, gentle pinks—lining the path like a welcoming gesture. They swayed lightly in the breeze, adding a sense of movement even when you slowed down. Their presence softened everything: the concrete of the path, the vastness of the land, even the rhythm of your ride.
As you cycled forward, the petals blurred slightly at the edges of your vision, becoming streaks of color that came and went with each turn of the wheel. The scent was faint but present, mixing with the fresh river air in a way that felt unmistakably like spring.
The ride itself became something more than motion. It was a quiet passage through openness and color, where the steady hum of the bicycle met the stillness of the morning. No rush, no weight—just the gentle rhythm of pedaling through wide land, under a clear sky, with tulips keeping you company along the way.
