In a Siberian Tiger's Footsteps. How Siberian tiger was saved from extinction by Russia and China

Each Siberian tiger needs hundreds of square kilometres of hunting territory to itself in order to thrive. This explains why the beasts used to roam freely across the Russia-China border. However by the end of the 20th century, hunters, poachers and loggers destroying its forest habitat had practically eliminated the species in the wild. Since then, the Chinese government has launched a programme aimed at making its territory the home to the largest number of tiger cubs in the world.
