Finally: US Built Its New Most Expensive Tank

America buying a new tank is notable and for the first time since the Cold War, the U.S Army is set to acquire and field a new light tank. The backbone of the Army’s armored fleet, the M1 Abrams, dates back to the late 1970s, and although much upgraded since then, it is essentially the same vehicle that was designed to take on waves of Soviet tanks pouring through the Fulda Gap. Currently, the U.S. Army does not have a combat vehicle that is much more mobile, protected, and attacking than the main Abrams A1M1 or Abrams A1M2 battle tank, but offers almost the same characteristics as it. It is the light tank therefore that needs to fill these gaps. In this video we are going to take a closer look at the tank that is now set to fill all those gaps, the Griffin II.
