Liberalism in the Age of Trump: George Packer

In this year’s Irving Howe Memorial Lecture, acclaimed author and journalist George Packer argues that the decline of liberal values helped to create the Trump presidency. Is a liberal renewal the answer? Packer is a staff writer at the New Yorker whose books include The Assassins’ Gate: America in Iraq and The Unwinding: The Inner History of the New America (winner of the National Book Award).
