Pediatric Patient Story - Jack F.
When Jack is on the ice, you’d never know he was born with half a heart—a life-threatening condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. It meant the left side of his heart failed to develop. During the first three years of Jack’s life, Dr. Bacha and the team at NewYork-Presbyterian reengineered his heart to allow the right side to do all the pumping. So now, Jack can put his whole heart into everything he does, with no limitations.
