Many times, while troubleshooting circuit boards and checking outputs, we require both an oscilloscope and a signal generator. As a result, these devices are essential for electronics enthusiasts. Recently, I decided to purchase an oscilloscope. I browsed Amazon and found that oscilloscopes ranged in price from $300 to $500 or more, making them unaffordable for some. Additionally, I looked for function generators and found their prices to be between $100 and $300 or more. Quite expensive, right?
I searched for low-cost oscilloscopes and function generators on AliExpress and discovered many options for beginners and hobbyists. Among these, I ordered a DIY Function Generator Kit based on the XR2206 IC. I also ordered a compact, colorful TFT screen-based oscilloscope powered by a battery.
In this video, we will explore this small oscilloscope and the DIY Function Generator. We will assemble and test the devices to determine if they can produce sine, square, and triangular waveforms. In conclusion, I believe these are the best items for beginners, and everyone should have them for various applications. So, let's get started.
