If you had watched the trial of William Kennedy Smith when it aired on national television, you'll remember that his accuser's face was obscured by a circle.
This was done in an effort to keep her identity a secret since she was a supposed victim of rape.
I say "supposed victim" only because the purpose of the trail was to determine whether or not Smith had in fact forced himself on the woman.
