Yetide Badaki on playing Neera on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and making her dreams come true

Yetide Badaki, best known for her role as Bilquis in Starz’ American Gods, will be guest starring in episode 2 in the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The episode airs on June 22.

In a recent clip released, Star Trek saw a first-look at Number One/ Una Chin-Riley (played by Rebecca Romijn) on trial after her arrest in the season one finale. Badaki will play the role Neera Ketoul, the legal counsel who’s been assigned to represent Number One. The episode will deal social issues through the lens of sci-fi.

The series stars Anson Mount as Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One/ Una Chin-Riley, Ethan Peck as Spock, Jess Bush as Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas and Babs Olusanmokun as Joseph M’Benga. Season two also features the return of special guest star Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk and new addition Carol Kane in a recurring role as Pelia.

Badaki was last seen playing NBA Champion Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mother in the Disney+ film Rise.
