Rafael Guimarães dos Santos gave a lecture at the World Ayahuasca Conference in Girona (AYA2019) reviewing the scientific research with ayahuasca conducted in Brazil, from the 1990s to the present.

According to these studies, ayahuasca can have a great potential for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and dependence of other substances. Moreover, it has the ability to enhance healthy behaviours, as well as strengthening bonds between people and reminding us of the importance of the community in order to heal destructive habits.
