LIVE: Spanish government holds press conference following Cabinet meeting

The Spanish government holds a press conference in Madrid on Friday, October 13, following a regular Cabinet meeting.

The meeting comes after on Tuesday Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont announced that he had suspended the independence declaration to pursue talk with Madrid.

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said on Wednesday that Puigdemont had until Monday, October 16, to confirm whether Catalonia had declared independence or not.
