Automatically add a prefix to a number in Google Sheets

- Select the column or range of cells that contain the numbers you want to add a prefix to.
- Go to Format - Number - More Formats - Custom number format.
- In the dialog box that appears, type the prefix inside double quotes, followed by a zero. For example, if you want to add +1 as a prefix, type "+1"0.
- Click Apply.

This will apply the custom number format to the selected cells, which will display the prefix along with the number, but keep the underlying value as a number.
