Nits - Memory Tapes #4 - Soap Bubble Box

"While recording the new songs for our album Ting, we did three concerts in our Werf studio. Because of the limited space only 50 people per night were allowed to see the concert. We played and recorded 12 songs. For the 3 sessions we invited Dieuwke Kleijn on cello and Eveline Carels on percussion. It was the first time we played the songs live in front of an audience.
We found this VHS tape again after 28 years and the quality shows the time that is passing by...but we are lucky to have it, thanks to Conno van Wijk who filmed it.
The 4th song is Soap Bubble Box. When we played in New York in 1989...one of the gigs was in the famous CBGB's... I saw in the Museum of Modern Art a collection of boxes of the artist Joseph Cornell. Although the Soap Bubble Set was not part of the collection it became the title of the song with 'Box' instead of 'Set' because it sounded much better..."
