Ms. Imelda Papin, is a Philippine Music Icon and a former Vice Governor in the province of Camarines Sur. She has brought honor to the country by acting as an Ambassadress of Goodwill and received numerous awards, both local and international, thus elevating her to the Hall of Fame. Inspite of a hectic schedule, she put a premium on education by taking up bachelor of Science in business Administration at the University of the East and later at Canon's Business College at the University of Hawaii with a degree of Business Management. She was awarded as the Most Outstanding Vice Governor of the Philippines in 1999 and Outstanding Public Servant in 2001 in recognition of her programs, such as the establishment of Integrated People's Centers in every municipality, construction of school buildings, bringing in of the first mobile dental clinic and mobile medical van (mini hospital with bed) from Queensland, Australia for use in depressed and far-flung barangays, scholarship grants to more than 1,000 students and the supplemental milk-feeding program that benefited more than 300,000 schoolchildren, among others. Recently, she was given the Honorable Harry Reid and Honorable John Ensign Senatorial Certificate of Commemoration, the Honorable Shelley Berkley Congressional Recognition and the Governor Jim Gibbons Certificate of Recognition in acknowledgment of her exceptional talent and her unfailing support to the Filipino-American community in the United States.
