Low-code technology helped build 75 percent of all enterprise software in 2021 according to Forrester and Gartner analysts. In fact, according to a 2021 Siemens survey, 75 percent of IT leaders say the no code/low code trend is something their organisation cannot afford to miss.

Hanna Hennig, CIO of Siemens, talks about how digital technology, which is transforming society, needs low code and no code. This is especially true in manufacturing where 80 percent of tasks can now be automated.

With this level of automation comes a fivefold demand for developers, she says. And this has led to the rise of what is known as the citizen developer - an employee who develops apps usually for use by themselves and others on their team. Low code techniques give programming skills to non-professional developers.
