S-Cinetone EXPLAINED: What You Need to Know, My Thoughts... || Sony a7S III, FX3

Looking to learn more about S-Cinetone?  e.g. How should you expose S-Cinetone?  What other picture profile combinations and gammas match well with S-Cinetone?  What look is this latest Sony picture profile based off of? etc.

I had these questions and many more after purchasing my Sony a7S III, and upgrading it to the latest (2.0 and above) firmware update to take advantage of S-CInetone.  Over the past few months, I've spent a fair amount of time on a number of real-world shooting situations testing out S-CInetone, and comparing it against other profiles in the Sony system.

In this part opinion and part technical analysis video, I'll go over my thoughts around S-Cinetone in general, and explain many of the important aspects most videographers and filmmakers would want to know when looking into this profile.  Though this will mostly focus around my a7S III and relatedly the FX3 which shares the same internals, much of this information will also apply to cameras like the FX6, FX9, a1 and the a7 IV that also contain S-Cinetone.
