Albert Woodfox on Music & Social Change

Date of interview: March 18, 2019

Albert Woodfox is from New Orleans, Louisiana.
He is the longest held solitary confinement prisoner in US history, having served 43 years in isolation for a crime he did not commit.
Released in 2016, Woodfox has been touring the world to speak out about the tortures of solitary confinement.
On March 05, 2019, he released an autobiography entitled "Solitary."
Later that month, Die Jim Crow producer Fury Young met Albert at his New Orleans home to record his voice for a song about the tortures of solitary. Afterwards, they filmed this interview.
