Providing Quality Healthcare

In a renewed effort to reform Ghana’s health sector, the Ministry of Health has inaugurated new boards for six key regulatory institutions.

The move forms part of government’s broader strategy to improve healthcare delivery, ensure safety, and restore public confidence. The newly constituted boards include the Mental Health Authority, Ghana College of Pharmacists, Allied Health Professions Council, National Ambulance Service, Traditional Medicine Council, and National Blood Service.

Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh said the appointments are timely, aligning with ongoing national health reforms.

He raised key concerns, including poor mental healthcare access, pharmacist shortages, ambulance delays, and under-regulated traditional medicine.

He tasked the boards to address these gaps, improve service standards, and promote collaboration across agencies.
