Pearl Party Scam ....do pearls change color when wet?

Education Video. Answering the question: Do pearls change color when wet? Apparently some vendors have told their clients that the reason the pearl from the pearl party arrived at their house a different color is because it dried after removal from the oyster. Do wet pearls change colors when they dry?
