Surveillance cameras, including thermal ones, captured the eruption of one of the most active volcanoes on Earth, Stromboli Volcano, on Italy's Stromboli island, Monday.

Heavy plumes of smoke were seen billowing above the area of the eruption, with lava seen rapidly running down.

The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology described the eruption as highly-intense.
