American vs. Canadian Border Crossing during Pandemic (Meeting at a river)

We can't cross the border because of the pandemic, but we still wanted to hang out in person. So, we planned to meet at the shorelines of a river that divides Canada and the United States, and have lunch together. It was a crazy journey, and maybe it was only a dream!?
