THE PROM Netflix - Full Review // What I Loved + Hated about the Movie Adaptation of The Prom

OHMYGOD HEY! 👋

The biggest news in theatreland this week is that Ryan Murpy's film adaptation of THE PROM has finally been released on Netflix.

In previous videos I have talked about my opinions on the controversy surrounding James Corden's performance and have also candidly reacted to the film's soundtrack for the first time, BUT in today's new video I am finally bringing you my FULL review of the movie musical talking about the cast, the choreography, the cinematography, the LGBTQ+ representation and more!

Check it out and see if you agree!

Directed by Murphy, The Prom (out December 11 on Netflix) features Meryl Streep as Dee Dee Allen, Nicole Kidman as Angie Dickinson, Ariana DeBose as Alyssa Greene, Kerry Washington as Mrs. Greene, newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman as Emma, James Corden as Barry Glickman, Andrew Rannells as Trent Oliver, Keegan-Michael Key as Mr. Hawkins, and Kevin Chamberlin as Sheldon Saperstein.

Featuring a book by Beguelin and Bob Martin and a score by Beguelin and Sklar, the musical tells the story of an Indiana high schooler barred from bringing her girlfriend to the prom—and the group of eccentric Broadway folk who infiltrate the town in an earnest, misguided attempt to fight the injustice.

I hope you've enjoyed this video, if you'd like to see more of the Stagey content I'm making including exclusive musical previews, West End interviews and general theatrical madness, subscribe to my channel! ⬇️
