CBCP to Catholics: No need to be nailed to the cross for forgiveness | DZMM TeleRadyo

An official of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines on Monday reminded Filipino Catholics that they do not need to be nailed to the cross to be forgiven for their sins.

“You do not need to get nailed to the cross…Ikumpisal mo at do something good later on,” Fr. Jerome Secillano, CBCP Commission on Public Affairs executive secretary, said.

Secillano said church attendance was up over the weekend as Filipino Catholics celebrate Palm Sunday. “Malaking factor din hirap tayo sa buhay ngayon. Matindi ang pinagdadaanan nila,” he said.

He reminded Catholics not to throw away the blessed palm fronds but to place them on altars or save them for Ash Wednesday next year.
