Bernd Weidung (better known by his stage name Thomas Anders; Münstermaifeld, March 1, 1963) is a German singer, as well as an actor, moderator, composer and producer. He is primarily known for having been the lead singer of the duo Modern Talking.
Within the pop duo Modern Talking, together with Dieter Bohlen, he made a career in the periods 1984-1987, 1998-2003.
Thomas Anders started his career when he was 17 years old with his debut single Judy in 1980. In 1981, Thomas appeared on the Michael Schanze show hätten Sie heut 'Zeit für uns, his first producer being Daniel David. In 1983 he met Dieter Bohlen, who produced Was macht das schon, a German cover of F.R. David Pick up the Phone, and also produced the German version of Real Life's Send Me an Angel song. In 1987, Thomas and Dieter decided to end Modern Talking and continue on their own due to the constant fights between the two. This led Dieter Bohlen to form his own band and Anders to continue as a soloist.
Later (1989) Thomas released many solo albums
Until 1998, when Thomas and Dieter surprised the world by announcing their reunion as Modern Talking. The duo sold more than 50 million copies between 1998 and 2003.
After that until today with "Cosmic Rider" Thomas releases solo albums that managed to have many successes
