Mather Campground Grand Canyon

I drove cross country on a one month solo road trip from Florida to Utah to camp and see some national and state parks.

This my review of Mather Campground, at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon was somewhere I always wanted to visit and it was the first park I got to see on this cross country trip. I camped inside the park at Mather. Sites are fairly large and restrooms and water spouts are nearby. It's about a 5 minute drive from Mather to the Visitor Center and rim of the actual canyon. It would take roughly 25minutes to walk from Mather to the Canyon view. Elk were everywhere! Don't leave food or water out, they will get to it. I had a bucket of water to do my dishes and as I walked away I turned around to find a female elk and calf drinking from it. A bus system is available at Grand Canyon, however, I visited during the summer months of 2020 and due to COVID restrictions, they were not running. The park was also not as busy, so driving around and parking were never an issue.
