A Raised Panel Column Base Recreated

When significant rot was discovered in five front porch column bases most could be repaired with new mouldings and patch work. One of the raised panel column bases was just too far gone, however. So, I took the remains back to my shop and fabricated a replacement. The four sides were recreated as closely as possible using my existing tooling, and then brought back to the jobsite for installation with new mouldings and paint. This strategy saved the cost of replacing all of the porch columns and the repairs could be buttoned up before the cold weather.
