Ooty Bus Stand Accessibility Project | Coromandel International CSR Initiative

Anuprayaas is proud to showcase the successful completion of the Ooty Bus Stand Accessibility Project, implemented under the CSR initiative of Coromandel International Limited in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Coimbatore Region

This project aims to make Ooty Bus Stand more accessible and inclusive for persons with disabilities by introducing infrastructure and information accessibility solutions that promote independent travel and equal access.
Accessibility Features Installed

✅ Tactile Flooring for independent navigation by persons with visual disabilities
✅ Braille Signages across offices, facilities, and passenger areas
✅ Braille Route Indicators at boarding bays
✅ Braille Map of Ooty Bus Stand providing an overview of facilities and bus routes
✅ Indian Sign Language (ISL) Videos accessible through QR codes for Deaf and Hard of Hearing passengers
✅ Repair and improvement of ramps for wheelchair users and persons with mobility impairments
✅ Installation and strengthening of railings for safer movement

The initiative helps create a safer, more inclusive public transport experience for:

• Persons with visual disabilities
• Persons who are Deaf
• Wheelchair users
• Senior citizens
• Persons with temporary or permanent mobility challenges

By integrating accessibility into public transport infrastructure, this project contributes towards building an India where everyone can travel with dignity, independence, and confidence.
