Why don’t people understand me?

Is it really that people don’t understand your season… or is it that your season requires a different kind of community? 🤍

I get asked this more than you’d think. Whether you’re in grad school, building something hard, or just walking through a season that doesn’t “fit” your current circles—here’s the truth:

👉 It’s not your job to make everyone fully understand your life
👉 It is your job to stay grounded in where you are and what you’re called to
👉 Being misunderstood doesn’t mean you’re doing life wrong—it just means you’re growing differently

Your season doesn’t change your worth—it reveals what kind of support you actually need.

Not every room is meant to carry every part of your story.

Real community looks like:
• people who ask questions even when they don’t fully get it
• people who can hold space without fixing or minimizing
• people who still show up even when your life feels “different”

And sometimes the hardest part is realizing you can love people deeply… and still need different spaces for different parts of your life.

I’ve seen people isolate because they felt misunderstood… and I’ve also seen people stay in rooms where they constantly felt “too much” or “too different.”

Neither extreme is the goal.

Alignment is.
