Wiedehopf: Paar füttert seine 2 Jungen ---- Hoopoe: Pair feeds its two Chicks

Two weeks ago my wife reported to me that the day before she had seen a Hoopoe pecking for food not far from our house on a path near a river. During a search the next day, I was able to discover the feeding couple there without much effort. They were feeding their chicks in a poplar tree in about 10m high in an abandoned Black Woodpecker hole. In the next few days I positioned my car about 30m away every day and was able to take the pictures that were made in this video. A Raccoon also stayed in the same tree where the young birds were at least on one day and I was concerned that it could pose a threat to the Hoopoes. I was able to spot at least one healthy young hoopoe that had flown on the first day of my filming and the two remaining ones seem to have made it three more days later. The young Hoopoes were fed with food every 10 minutes and this gave me the opportunity to film many approaches of the parents carrying food.It was difficult for me to make a choice in this first-time opportunity for me to film Hoopoe at the cave, so the film is certainly a bit too long. Everyone now has the choice to look at the variations of the many approaches in the full 12 minutes, or to shorten them. According to my information, it is the first evidence of breeding in my region for about 50 years!
I'm really happy!
