Havant Borough Council - Infrastructure - Car Parking Charges and Taxing The Sick on Hayling Island

Havant Borough Council are proposing to implement car parking charges at Hayling Island Health Centre for the first time. We feel this is unfair on people who are unwell and constitutes a "Tax On The Sick". Havant Borough Council have also increased car parking charges in Mengham Village by 42% this year, and this is damaging local business as customers are being discouraged from local shopping and instead parking for free in Havant. It is worth noting that the main Havant Borough Council Car park in Havant charges half what we are charged in our village.

We have raised a petition to halt the Tax On The Sick and reduce car parking charges, and so far we have over 3,500 signatures, 25% of the voting electorate.
