The Japanese American Internment Camps

At the onset of the Second World War, a large number of Japanese, German and Italian Americans were viewed with a level of suspicion, many believing they held hidden loyalties. But it was the Japanese American people who were disproportionately affected by the laws and executive orders that sought to protect the United States from internal saboteurs. In today’s video, we will cover briefly the laws enacted to deal with the perceived internal threat, how thousands of Japanese Americans were treated during the second world war and examples of great resolve from Japanese American Soldiers who fought during the war.
