3 Freezer Ready Dessert Recipes || preparing for guests

It's nice to be a gracious hostess when friends stop in (something I'm trying to learn and get better at)... and part of that is having food around the house to pull out for your guests.

Recipes:

Super Yummy Granola Bars
1.5 lb mini marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup peanut butter
4 1/2 cups rice krispies
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
5 cups quick oats
1 cup coconut
1 cup chocolate chips or m&m's

*heat butter and oil on low heat until melted
*add marshmallows, stirring until melted
*remove from heat, add peanut butter and honey

(have the following steps finished before melting the marshmallows)
*in large bowl combine remaining ingredients
*make a well in the center and pour in marshmallow mixture
*press into greased jelly roll pan
*cool and cut into bars

Choc. Chip Waffle Whoopie Pies

* 2 cups sugar
* 1 cup butter
* 4 eggs
(beat above together and then add)
* 2 tsp vanilla
* 2 cups sour cream
* 2 tsp baking powder
* 2 tsp baking soda
* 1 tsp salt
* 4 cups flour
(lastly add)
12 oz. choc chips.

Icing
* 1 cup unsalted butter
* 1/8 tsp salt
* 4 cups powdered sugar
* 3 tbsp heavy cream
* 2 tsp vanilla
* 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
-Beat butter and salt on medium speed until smooth and creamy. About 2 min.
-add 2 cups powdered sugar, beat till combined then add another 2 cups and beat until completely smooth
-add cream, vanilla, and lemon juice and beat on high until fluffy.
(beat in more sugar as needed)

WHITE TEXAS SHEET CAKE
* 1 cup butter
* 1 cup water
* 2 cups sugar
* 1/2 tsp salt
* 2 1/4 cups flour
* 2 eggs
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 1/2 cup sour milk
* 1 tsp baking soda

Frosting
* 1/2 cup butter
* 4 tbsp milk
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 4 cups icing sugar

- Heat butter and water together
- Remove from heat and add sugar, salt and flour. Mix well then add remaining ingredients
- Blend well and pour into a greased and floured cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Frosting:
- mix butter, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
- add icing sugar. mix well and spread on cooled cake.
