My Garden Highlights - JULY

Bunny undertakes a revamp of the entrance courtyard, giving one of her topiary chickens a Very special perch. She explains why she loves the use of tree seats and how she uses a variety of designs in her gardens, using a range of materials from inexpensive plywood and woven hazel to bespoke metal like the one she uses here.
Although Bunny plans to use bound Breedon Gravel here, in her inner courtyard she shows how loose gravel can soften a hard paving design and guides us through her Top 5 favourite plants for gravel. All are easy to grow and will tolerate sun or shade.
Bunny then shows us her ongoing project to create a Growing Arbour, formed from two existing box balls and two bay standards that she has allowed to merge. Having re-utilised a redundant 20 year old arbour, she shows how to train the hedging so that it will form around the framework, allowing enough space for a small seat for two underneath.
Finally Bunny shows what a difference two months has made to the box hedge that she heavily chopped back in her May Highlights video. Regeneration pruning at its best!
