"Akris: St.Gallen, selbstverständlich"

Until March 10, 2024 the exhibition “Akris: St.Gallen, selbstverständlich” at the Textilmuseum St.Gallen presents the embroidery archives of the firm founded by Alice Kriemler-Schoch, which date back to the 1940s. The surprising colors, fragile materials, and infinite variety of three-dimensional patterns in this archive are a never-ending point of departure for creation and ever new techniques of processing and crafting.

“Akris: St.Gallen, selbstverständlich” reveals how intertwined the firm’s distinctive signature is with the city in which it is located. It gives an insight into the close relationship between the fashion house and St.Gallen’s textile industry and presents those collections that embody the zeitgeist.
