Culture shock is real! For me it was unexpected which made it even more shocking. Just because you're moving to a Western country with the military or are familiar with aspects of the culture doesn't mean you'll be immune to culture shock. Hopefully knowing these things will help you be a little more mentally prepared than I was! Everyone struggles at first.
