Landscape Photography and Hiking at Little River Falls Canyon Park
In this video we're hiking and making landscape photographs at Little River Canyon National Preserve, deep in the hills of Northern Alabama.
Along the way we will see beautiful scenery and find a few curiosities.
Little River Canyon National Preserve is a federally managed natural area with more than 15,000 acres. It features the deepest canyon in the state of Alabama, and one of the deepest east of the Mississippi River. It sits at the south end of the Cumberland Plateau.
The canyon was cut by the Little River, called by the National Park Service a pristine waterway -- it's very clean. This region has a very long history of human habitation. In fact, the NPS says this, "The cultural resources located within Little River Canyon National Preserve represent more than 10,000 years of human habitation and history in the region. There are more than 150 archeological sites within the preserve, including rock shelters with archeological materials."
