Remembering the 1979 Fastnet Race Disaster
The Rolex Fastnet Race gets underway this weekend marking 40 years since 19 people lost their lives during the same event.
Kieran Cotter, coxswain of Baltimore RNLI, was part of the rescue effort in 1979 and he spoke to Jackie Keogh about his memories from back then, the challenges facing this year's competitors and the dangers of the sea.
