Cinnamon Roll Ingredients: 32pcs
dry ingredients: ( add all together before mixing in to wet ingredients)
15 dl all purpose flour
2 cups white sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cardamon powder (optional)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 egg (optional) and 1 beaten egg for glossy
1/2 cup flour for dusting (if needed)
wet ingredients: (mix to activate the yeast)
5 -6 dl milk (warm)
150 g butter (melted)
2 tbsp dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
filling:
100 g butter room temperature (soft)
1 cups sugar
1 or 2 tsp cinnamon powder
frosting (optional) only if you like ( 3 options)
a. 1 bar cream cheese, 1 cup sugar , 1 tsp vannila extract. Mix and spread in top of each roll.
b. 1/2 cup confectionery sugar, 2 tbsp warm milk. Mix and spread it on top of each roll.
c. confectionery sugar (just sprinkle or dust it on top.
Steps:
1. Prepare the wet mixture to activate the yeast (melt the butter, add the milk but dont make it too hot, add sugar and yeast. Mix and set aside. ( once the bubbles form on surface it means the yeast is ready.
2. add all the dry ingredients in a big mixing bowl.
3. pour wet mixture and mix ro form a dough.
4. (if you don't have stand mixer) manually knead the dough for 8 to 10 minutes until it becomes elastic, sprinkle or dust it with extra flour if the mixture is too wet.
5. add some butter or oil around the bowl to avoid sticking, put the dough back into bowl and let it rise for 1 hour until it double the size.
6. prepare the fillings by mixing the sugar and cinnamon powder into a soft or melted butter.
7. after one hour check the dough double it size, punch the air out and roll the dough into log and divide it into 2 or 3 parts.
8. using the rolling pin, roll it over the dough to flatten and make a rectangular form, spread evenly the filling.
9. roll it into a log form, cut even sizes to make 32 pieces and put it in a baking pan with baking/parchment paper. Cover and let it rise in 30 mins (put it in a warmer area in your kitchen)
10. preheat the oven in 220 °C , after 30 mins or when the roll double the size, brush each roll with beaten egg and sprinkle it with sugar pearls.
11. bake it in 200 degree celcius for 10 to 15 mins.
