Approaching the Scene 151: Nikon Please Fix This Z Camera Depth of Field Problem!

(LINKS BELOW) It’s still a problem. Back in March of 2019 I made a video highlighting an issue with Nikon’s Z cameras and depth of field preview. I found it shocking that no other landscape, macro or still life photographers were talking about it. Now over 2 years later, I’m making a 2nd video with the next generation Z cameras to better explain the issue. I hope you’ll join me in reaching out to Nikon to fix this glaring oversight in theIr otherwise amazing cameras.

Use the above link to either call or email Nikon and ask if they will design a firmware update to allow all of the Z cameras to show apertures smaller than F5.6 or lock depth of field preview while zoomed in to check focus. This should at least be an option in manual focus mode. Other mirrorless brands allow it. It's the default in the Z cameras’ video mode, so it has to be possible in still mode too.
