It was not a big total but Venkatesh Prasad turned this match in India's favour when he claimed 5/27 from 9.3 overs to bowl out the Pakistanis for just 180 runs. India won that match with a 47 run margin.

Then Under the captaincy of Saurav Ganguly India beats Pakistan again in World Cup 2003. This World Cup encounter was the only occasion when Pakistan batted first setting India a target of 274 on the back of a fine hundred from Saeed Anwar. However, Sachin Tendulkar was at his destructive best when he walked out to bat as he smashed Pakistani bowlers all around the park en route to his 98 off just 75 balls. Sachin missed his hundred by just 2 runs but he turned the match in India's favour. Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid's half centuries helped india to with this match by six wickets remaining.

When India became World Champion in 2011 after 28 years then before lifting World Cup, India met Pakistan in Semi Final. Again Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar smashed fighting 85 as India scored 260/9.

Indian Captain Virat Kohli also scored 77 runs off just 65 balls and a quick 26 runs off 19 balls smashed by allrounder Hardik Pandya. KL Rahul 57 (78) and Rohit Sharma 140 (113) give india a dream start when they scored 136 runs partnership for first wicket. India scored 336/5 in 50 overs of their innings with Rohit Sharma's hundred.
