THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL ORGAN - AN INTRODUCTION - JONATHAN SCOTT

Jonathan Scott introduces the Grand Organ of The Royal Albert Hall, London, UK (Full details and specification below).

Jonathan first performed on the RAH organ in 1999 at the BBC Proms and has given many performances there since its restoration in 2004. The organ was the largest in the world when it was built in 1871 by 'Father' Willis with 111 stops. It was enlarged by Harrison & Harrison in two stages in 1924 & 1933. It was fully restored by Mander Organs in 2004. It is now the second largest pipe organ in the UK and has 147 stops and 9,997 pipes.
