F-14 unique wing design

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable-sweep wing fighter aircraft that served as the U.S. Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter and fleet defense interceptor for over three decades. Developed to replace the F-4 Phantom II, it first flew in December 1970, entered operational service in 1974, and was officially retired by the U.S. Navy in 2006. The aircraft remains a massive pop-culture icon, most notably celebrated for its starring role in the 1986 film Top Gun.
