Remembering Monte Cassino 80 years on

Marc’s father, Severyn, was born in Warsaw in 1913 and joined the Polish Free Army after Germany invaded Poland in 1939.

In May 1944 he fought at the Battle of Monte Cassino, where Allied forces secured a vital victory in the liberation of Europe.

80 years on, Marc spoke to us about his father’s service and the legacy of his generation who fought to preserve the freedoms we know today.
