Support New Writing at the SJT with the Absurd Person Singular 50th Anniversay Celebration

Stephen Joseph Theatre Associate Director Kash Arshad introduces the Absurd Person Singular 50th Anniversary Celebration fund-raising event on 26 June 2022 and explains how it will support new writing at the SJT.

He is joined by Alan Ayckbourn talking about Absurd Person Singular and the new writing legacy at the theatre, started by Stephen Joseph, championed by Alan and continuing to be a vibrant, essential and exciting part of the company today.

The Absurd Person Singular 50th Anniversary Celebration will be taking place at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, on 26 June 2022. Alan Ayckbourn leads a rehearsed reading of the play with a hand-picked company at 3pm. This will be followed by a Q&A with Alan Ayckbourn, his company and special guests.

It will be preceded at 12pm with na introductory talk by Alan Ayckbourn's Archivist, Simon Murgatroyd, looking at the creation of the play and its journey from Scarborough to Broadway.
