Sarah Chayes, "Thieves of State"

http://www.politics-prose.com/event/book/sarah-chayes-thieves-of-state-why-corruption-threatens-global-security

Chayes was an NPR correspondent in Afghanistan until, wanting to do more, in 2002 she joined the NGO, Afghans for Civil Society, whose work she wrote about in Punishment of Virtue. Now with the Carnegie Endowment, Chayes draws on her international experiences as well as on history to argue that corruption is the main threat to security in Egypt, Nigeria, Afghanistan, and many other places.
