Bullied teen Kyemah McEntyre designs her own prom dress, becomes viral sensation

ORANGE, NEW JERSEY — Kyemah McEntyre, 18, was a victim of bullying. But she instead turned all the insults and taunting into a reason to embrace her own uniqueness. She designed her own prom dress, drawing inspiration from African designs, and had it made by local seamstress Markell’s Closet.

Photos of Kyemah wearing her dress went viral, and her Instagram garnered thousands of followers. She has spoken out against bullying and encouraged other suffering teens to fight back and learn to love themselves no matter what people say.

Kyemah won the highly coveted title of Prom Queen. She is also set to attend Parsons School of Design in New York.
